London’s most anticipated new shows

Here’s our Monday digest of the 5 new shows Stagedoor users are most excited to see this week (17–23 September)

1. Antony & Cleopatra

Runs from 18 September until 19 January 2019 at the National Theatre

Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo lead the cast in this Shakespearean epic. Politics & passion are violently intertwined with tragic consequences.

2. The Inheritance

Runs from 21 September until 5 January 2019 at the Noel Coward Theatre

This 2-part, 6.5 hour production was a sell-out sensation at the Young Vic and makes its much-anticipated West End debut this week. An epic tale, it follows the story of the generation of young gay men growing up in the wake of the AIDS crisis.

3. Katherine Ryan: Glitter Room

Runs from 17 September until 29 September 2018 at the Garrick Theatre

Following the success of her worldwide Netflix special, Katherine Ryan brings her sell-out 2017/2018 UK tour to the West End.

4. Poet in da Corner

Runs from 21 September until 6 October 2018 at the Royal Court

What happens if you fight against the odds, against the opinions and attitudes that surround you, to achieve the life you want — and then realise it’s not what you need?

A new piece by poet, musician and dancer, Deborah ‘Debris’ Stevenson.

5. The Fishermen

Runs from 17 September until 22 September at the Arcola Theatre

Fresh from Edinburgh Festival success, The Fishermen is a powerful play about brotherhood, vengeance and fate. Based on the Man Booker Prize-shortlisted novel by Chigozie Obioma and adapted by award-winning playwright Gbolahan Obisesan.
