London’s most anticipated openings: 16 July – 22 July

Here’s our Monday morning digest of the new shows our users are most excited to see:

1. Othello

Runs from 20 July until 13 October 2018 at Shakespeare’s Globe.

Following silver screen success in Moonlight, André Holland leads the cast as Othello. Joining him is none other than Mark Rylance. Need we say more?

2. Exit the King

Previews from 17 July, runs from 25 July until 6 October 2018 at The National Theatre.

Rhys Ifans and Indira Varma lead the cast in this new version of Ionesco’s modern classic, adapted and directed by Patrick Marber.

3. The Importance of Being Earnest

Previews from 20 July, runs from 2 August until 6 October 2018 at the Vaudeville Theatre.

Classic Spring, the new theatre company, formed by Dominic Dromgoole, continues its Oscar Wilde Season with The Importance of Being Earnest.

4. Titanic – The Musical

Runs from 16 July until 21 July 2018 at Churchill Theatre, Bromley.

The original Broadway production of Titanic The Musical won five Tony Awards. This new production wowed critics when it opened at the Charing Cross Theatre and is now coming to the end of its UK tour. If you haven’t caught it yet, this may be your last chance!5. Madagascar the Musical

UK tour begins at New Wimbledon Theatre, where it runs from 21 -28 July. Also at Churchill Theatre, Bromley from 25–29 September.

X-Factor 2016 winner Matt Terry stars in this new family musical. With puppets as cute as the little fella below, it’s hard not to see the appeal.
