London’s most anticipated openings: 30 July — 5 August

Here’s our Monday morning digest of the new shows our users are most excited to see:

1. £¥€$ (LIES)

Runs from 1 August until 18 September 2018 at Almeida.

“The best way to rob a bank is to own one”

World-renowned Belgian theatre company Ontroerend Goed brings its award-winning immersive production to the Almeida Theatre for a limited run.

2. Bring It On

Runs from 2 August until 1 September 2018 at Southwark Playhouse.

Bring It On The Musical takes audiences on a high-flying journey filled with the complexities of friendship, jealousy, betrayal and forgiveness. Nominated for the Tony Award for Best Musical, featuring an original story by Tony Award winner, Jeff Whitty (Avenue Q) and music and lyrics by Tony Award-winning composer, Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights, Hamilton).

3. Little Shop of Horrors

Runs from 3 August — 15 September at Regent’s Park Open Air

Like Faust on fertiliser: for the misfits of Skid Row, life is full of broken dreams and dead ends. But there’s hope on the horizon for flower shop assistant, Seymour, when he discovers a mysterious new plant with killer potential.

4. Aristocrats

Runs 2 August — 22 September 2018 at the Donmar Warehouse

Lyndsey Turner returns to the Donmar following Faith Healer and Philadelphia, Here I Come! to direct Brian Friel’s haunting play about a generation whose past threatens to obliterate its future.

5. Carmen La Cubana

Runs from 1 August to 18 August at Sadler’s Wells

Inspired by Oscar Hammerstein II’s Broadway hit Carmen Jones, this is a sizzling new musical featuring Bizet’s classic score flavoured with authentic Cuban styles.
