Classical festive tales:
The Old Vic
27 Nov – 17 Jan
Matthew Warchus’ big-hearted, smash hit production of Charles Dickens’ immortal classic. Filling the auditorium to the brim with mince pies, music and merriment, a unique staging immerses the audience in this uplifting story for everyone aged 8+. Can Ebenezer Scrooge be saved before it’s too late?
“A love song to Christmas, to the redeeming power of theatre and, not least, to The Old Vic itself” – Observer
22 Nov – 6 Jan
Twinkling with festive spirit, The Snowman returns for a record-breaking 21st year. Take a leap into the glistening winter’s sky and walk in the air with The Snowman, where enchanting penguins and reindeer dance and magical snowmen come to life.
“Guaranteed to melt the heart of even the most cynical Scrooge” – Guardian
Alternative festive tales:
5 Dec – 5 Jan
Due to popular demand, the 503 Christmas Panto is bringing back the timeless(ish) classic that is the Sleeping Trees’ Cinderella and the Beanstalk…with a difference. Cinderella must complete her quest to recover her glass slipper, but Prince Charming, the Fairy Godmother and Jack’s pregnant cow are all doing their best to get in the way so her mission might not be quite as easy as she thought…
★★★★ “This is a mega-mix that’s truly mega” – Time Out
28 Nov – 29 Dec
A mixture of South Park and Miracle on 34th Street by way of Scrooged, Anthony Neilson’s hilarious and cutting comedy about finding the true spirit of Christmas comes to Southwark for the first time. If you’re a real scrooge, if you hate Christmas, or if you’re just exhausted by going through the motions to please un-pleasable relatives, then this show is for you.
★★★★ “Riotously enjoyable” – The Stage
Anti-festive tales, for Scrooges & eye-rollers:
10 Dec – 5 Jan
Edinburgh Comedy Award winner Sam Simmons is back with the world premiere of his brand new show for Christmas.
What is you?
What is me?
When have I been all your life?
Come witness the miracle birth of the baby Greg.
So wrap a biro in sausage meat and let’s sit around the open pug while we raise a warm mug of yoghurt to Greg.
Oh, and don’t forget to give a hot boiled egg to the bus driver and pop a radish up your arse on Gregmas Eve.
Theatre Royal Stratford East

The award-winning improv comedy team are back and things are getting Christmassy. It’ll be a magical anti-panto Christmas adventure using all the theatrical toys the team can steal from the Stratford East elves: costumes, props, scenery, music and live reindeer.*
Christmas shows from the LGBT+ community:
27 Nov – 5 Jan
Fresh from their sold-out, five-star run at the Edinburgh Fringe, the multi-award-winning duo is here for the cabaret comedy extravaGAYnza that well and truly SLEIGHS. Just like A Christmas Carol – but with fewer ghosts and more gays.

Mid-nineties. A duo whose passion and craze for the theatre kept them going through thick and thin, no matter what. Your typical, charming, pub theatre in the heart of Camden, where the nights were always filled with excitement and dare. And then, of course, the annual long trips away from home, all the way to the Edinburgh Fringe, for a much anticipated month of theatre extravaganza.
