1. Six

Runs from 17 January until 9 May at the Arts Theatre

Six returns to the Arts Theatre following a critically acclaimed run across the UK. Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss’ pop-concert musical remixes history and celebrates the stories of Henry VIII’s six wives.

2. When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other

Runs from 16 January until 2 March at the National Theatre

Cate Blanchett makes her National Theatre debut in a unique retelling of Samuel Richardson’s novel Pamela that reunites director Katie Mitchell and writer Martin Crimp.

3. The Unreturning

Runs from 16 January until 2 February at Theatre Royal Stratford East

This bold new play by Anna Jordan and produced by Frantic Assembly follows the lives of three men returning from different wars and the profound effect that conflict can have on young lives.

4. Dear Elizabeth

Runs from 17 January until 9 February at the Gate Theatre

Sarah Ruhl brings to life the friendship of celebrated poets Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Powell through the four hundred letters they wrote to each other. 

5. Twelfth Night

Runs from 17 January until 9 February at the Southwark Playhouse

Anna Girvan is at the helm of Shakespeare’s classic comedy now set in the heart of a music festival complete with live music onstage!
